Dr. Xavier Gras Balaguer, born in Barcelona in 1952. Medical Degree at UAB School of Medicine, Barcelona, Spain, June 1975. Specialist in Cardiology in 1979 and Specialist in Internal Medicine in 1980. Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Cum Laude from Barcelona School of Medicine in 1988. Working at the pharmaceutical industry since 1981 at Squibb as a regional clinical research director. Involved on the development of protocols and clinical trials from phase I to IV of Captopril (first angiotensin enzyme inhibitor) and pravastatin (first lipid lowering agent in the world). Working at Prodesfarma as a head of research and development, developing Aceclofenac, the first NSAD without secondary gastric side effects. Registration of Aceclofenac including 6000 patients was successfully approved first country UK and introduced in more than 70 countries. Has published more than 40 clinical studies. Former Vice-President of the board of Directors of the Association of Physicians of the Spanish Pharmaceutical Industry (1989-1991). Secretary of the Board of Directors of International Federation Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians since June 1996. Since 2003 started Vita Green Europe company to develop Cysticlean, a Cranberry Extract to treat and prevent Urinary Tract Infections, distributed in more than 10 countries (EU, USA and Perú).
