Johanna Maukonen

Johanna leads the global team of Clinical Innovation & Translation, being a key link for Health R&D to customers and external scientific communities. Previously, she led Global Health and Nutrition Science group, which conducted and coordinated in vitro, pre-clinical and clinical studies on IFF’s ingredients. Before joining IFF, Johanna worked over 20y at VTT Technical Research Centre, Finland. She has extensive R&D experience in understanding the gut microbiota and its impact on health, especially on the influence of probiotics, nutrition and fibers. She has D.Sc.(Tech) on characterization of predominant human fecal microbiota.
